My friends Phil Swann and Jules Jones have written and recorded a new song which they have recently uploaded onto youtube. Phil told me that some of the lyrics were inspired by the history themed songs of the Legendary Ten Seconds.

Ian’s Blog 18th August 2024
Jay Brown came over to my house and I recorded him playing bass on several of my new songs:-
Into Intergalactic Space ( instrumental )
The Lusitania
Cariad
The Oil Patch Warrior
Lancastrian Lament ( instrumental )
I also recorded him adding some electric guitar to the Into Intergalactic Space instrumental.
Here are the lyrics for my newest song which is about the maiden voyage of the Lusitania which I composed while I was reading a novel called Murder On The Lusitania by Edward Marston.
The Lusitania
Oh the Lusitania
On her maiden voyage
Launched by the Cunard Line
This passenger ship looks so fine
Sail first class and you’ll travel in style
Stroll along the deck for a while
Oh the Lusitania
Leaving Liverpool
On her way to New York
Of the blue ribbon there is much talk
Sail first class on the Cunard line
Drink champagne and the finest wine
Such great excitement
Arriving in New York
Such great excitement
Arriving in New York
Oh the Lusitania
On her maiden voyage

Ian’s Blog 4th August 2024
The 4th of August is the anniversary of the battle of Evesham in 1265. Simon de Montfort was defeated and killed at this battle which took place during the reign of Henry III. I composed a song about this battle for the Mortimer History Society and the actor John Challis (Boycie in Only Fools and Horses) can be heard reading an introduction for the song.
