Ian’s Blog 30th November 2025

A few weeks ago I came across a rehearsal recording of one of my songs which Lord Z had uploaded onto his youtube channel. This came as a pleasant surprise to me as I have no recollection of this rehearsal and it also sounds rather nice. It was recorded in my basement just before we started recording songs about Richard III and probably around the time that the second version of The Morrisons came to an end. This must be close to when he started helping me with my Legendary Ten Seconds music project. You can hear a rehearsal of my song called Bright Blue Eyes That Shine which is on my Good Fortune album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWFvjQrulBI

Ian’s Blog 23rd November 2025

On Thursday I attended the latest meeting in St Anne’s Hall of the Babbacombe and St Marychurch History Society. We enjoyed another excellent talk and presentation given by Rosemary Griggs with the help of her husband David. Her talk was about how Christmas was celebrated in Tudor England and this included her husband singing some songs from the Tudor period. Recently the English folk musician Jim Causley had told me about the folk band Isca Fair who I had not heard of before. It came as a bit of a surprise to me when Rosemary mentioned in her talk that her husband used to sing for Isca Fair. He has certainly got a really great singing voice.

I have been enjoying listening to Jim Causley’s songs and I have recently discovered that he has composed music for some of Charles Causley’s poems. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dznYUfZP30&list=OLAK5uy_l_0ooHNR_Li3Af_t0037L2E65OCVlpyQs&index=2
