Ian’s Blog 5th April 2026

On Wednesday morning Elaine sang with me for the Babbacombe cliff railway centenary event at the Babbacombe Inn. We played our new song about the cliff railway and a couple of other Torquay themed songs such as Along the Seafront. The cliff railway in Torquay was opened on 1st April 1926 and in our song we mention that the mayor made the first trip down to the beach. I believe that his ticket for this ride is on display in the cliff railway visitor centre at Oddicombe beach.
